It’s a shopoholic’s paradise with the

leading into the high street with major stores such as
Marks & Spencer, Woolworth’s, Wilkinson’s, Matalan, JD Sports & T.K.Max
to name but a few.
The further
down the high street you venture the roads of to the right become the old
fashioned cobbled streets with eateries, jewellers & collectables shopping
in abundance.
The vaults with its antique, arts & crafts &
collectable Outlets on the lower ground floor & fish, vegetables, groceries
& meat market on the upper ground floor.
Venture even further down & the shops become more
seaside shops, with chip shops; café’s & souvenir shops, you then find
yourself on the long promenade (beach rd).

The main beach rd is lined with souvenir shops,
arcades, fish & chip shops including the famous Winking Willy’s, Pubs,
Café’s, a Cinema & much much more.
The beach has a blue flag rating & is packed, providing
donkey rides & council run activities during the season.

To the north end of the beach there is a harbour with boats
trips of all kinds including fishing, speed boat, cruising & even trips to
see the seals; the harbour also holds a lighthouse & resident fair.

further along the north end of the beach you can see the famous


Scarborough Atlantis is an outdoor water complex with slides
& makes a great day out for all the family, there is also a kiddies
adventure playground called Kinder land & Train that runs to scalby mills
& the sea life centre.




SEALIFE CENTRE & SCALBY MILLS

Peasholm Park is spectacular in itself, holding a
world war 2 battle on the lake (battle of the river plate) during the season
(be their early) the island has been rejuvenated in 2007 with the Chinese style
waterfall, there are peddle boats to hire on the lake & a café.
The walk around the lake is breathtakingly beautiful with
the flora & fauna & you can feed both the abundance of wildfowl &
the grey squirrels by hand.
